Well, here we are in April already and as you can see I didn't do too well in keeping up this blog. Next year....I will try harder:)
We have had eight kiddos this school year and we've had a great time together! Several will be leaving to attend kindergarten in the fall, others will be going to "big PreK" and others will be returning to J/B. We will also have some new kiddos joining us. With the exception of me being sick a day and several days off of school because of weather, I think it was a pretty good year! We are all looking forward to summer! It is hard to believe the summer is over and we are looking at Labor Day! Things are coming together for this year of JAM & BAGEL CLUB! We will be having an open house/meet the teacher night, on Wednesday September 5th from 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm. Hope you will be able to join us and see what we are all about!!
We will have eight Bagelettes this year. Three boys and five girls!! We will be learning all about the alphabet by focusing on one letter a week (as time allows). We will have snacks, songs, stories, play, etc. all revolving around that letter! Looking forward to a great new year! We are now accepting applications for our upcoming 2018-2019 school year! If you have any questions or need information or would like to register, please contact Sheri at [email protected] or 309.369.3585. Thanks!!
The calendar says spring, but the weather makes it seem like it is still winter! It was beautiful on Easter Sunday with the snow, but I think we are all ready for that to be done and to see the green grass and the birds, etc.
There are only a few weeks of school left, which is really hard to believe! We are thinking of planning a field-trip to end our year. Thoughts are to visit a friend's new puppies - 12 of them! and maybe a trip to the park and some ice cream!! Hope you all have a great April! Spread the word about J/B Club!! It is hard to believe we are already halfway through February! And it feels like spring, even though Pux declared six more weeks of winter nearly a few weeks ago. We will take the balmy weather and sunshine!
Yesterday we celebrated Valentine's Day at JAM & BAGEL. We played a few games and made heart hand print pictures with red paint. They turned out nice. The most exciting part of the day was opening our Valentine sacks that were filled with lots of fun goodies! Thanks to everyone who brought something to help celebrate! Hope your day is filled with lots of love! It is hard to believe that it is February already! Lots of people and kiddos are battling the flu, cough, cold, fever, etc. and we are having a snowy week! Yes, the groundhog saw his shadow, so looks like we will have a little more winter:).
We may not like the snow, but you have to admit it was beautiful this morning and it was cold, but the wind was calm. The walk to JAM & BAGEL was pleasant. This month we are talking Nursery Rhymes. There are so many, but we will get to as many as we can. Today we talked about Hickory Dickory Dock. We also had the letter I and made an inchworm on the letter I. I got out my new puzzles, but they were a little hard. Gonna have to practice them a little and maybe they will catch on. We will be having a Valentine's party next Tuesday. I think the kiddos will love that! Today is the day we have set aside on our calendars to celebrate MLK Jr.
Post Offices and banks and some schools are closed to celebrate. Some don't have school, not because of MLK day, but because of the snow and bitter cold! Like Martin, I feel like "I have a Dream", and that is seeing JAM & BAGEL Club grow. We have gotten off to a great start this January and I am excited to see everyone back in the classroom this week. Several were gone last week, so it will be nice to have everyone back! We have started a few new things. Fun Folders and Buddy Boxes. So far, the kids seem to enjoy them. We are also having them write their name and do some pre-writing skills on Tuesdays. On Thursdays, we have (new) folders that are called Name Folders. They spell their name, trace their name, match letters in their name and then write their name. We are also continuing the clothes pin name cards. Hopefully by May they will at least recognize their name (the younger ones) and the older ones will be better at writing their names. If you want to know what Buddy Boxes are, maybe your Bagelette can describe them to you. Fun Folders - they are folders with different activities and each day a different Bagelette gets to choose which one we do together! Now, about that growing......Share, share, share about JAM & BAGEL Club!! Thanks for helping make a Dream come true! Can't believe it is January 6th already!! In three days, JAM & BAGEL Club will begin it's third session!! And on January 10th, JAM & BAGEL Club will be ONE year old!! So much has happened in that short/long year. We have had 12 kids go through J/B Club in those sessions! Now it is time to recruit some more for this fall! If you know of anyone, please have them contact me.
Hope you all had a good Christmas and New Year break and that the weather will cooperate and we will have WARM days from here on out! See you all soon!! Happy New Year! Yesterday we celebrated Christmas in J/B Club. We sang, played games, ate snack, watched a movie, did a craft, and gave and received gifts!
We look forward to a break for a few weeks, but also look forward to a new year. Brynn will be heading to BPCE and Noah will be joining us at J/B Club! We hope to incorporate a few new things this spring and look forward to preparing all of the kiddos for their next adventure, whether that is continuing with us or moving on to the Big K, etc. Thank you all for a great fall and for all of your support of J/B Club! We couldn't do it without YOU!! Wishing you all a very Merry CHRiSTmas and a blessed New Year! Miss Sheri A huge THANK-YOU goes out to Lisa Webb, who has created and worked many hours to make this website possible!! I am excited to get it up and running; and even though there are still some things to add and to tweak, I want to get information to others about our club! So, it will be up to you to share, share, share!
This is our last week of club until we resume again in January. I trust everyone will have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! |
